Marketing Strategy

A successful marketing strategy requires a deep understanding and full appreciation of what the client desires and what the client needs. By representing only a very limited number of strategies Connors & Co. is able to develop this in-depth knowledge of our clients. We work closely with our clients to structure, develop and package a marketing and execution strategy.
Our marketing process typically proceeds as follows:

Evaluation and Assessment
  • A thorough assessment of a client’s business objectives, organizational structure and culture, investment philosophy, methodology and performance.
  • Identify client’s strengths and unique characteristics.
Development of Marketing Strategy
  • Assist in the development of new marketing materials and/or modifications to existing materials
  • Capitalize on our extensive network of institutional investor to determine where the manager has better recognition and in which markets greater efforts must be made to increase the firm’s profile.
  • Identify the most appropriate target audience for effective prospecting by further capitalizing on investor network to keep abreast of the strategies and amounts investors plan on allocating over the near and long-term.
Implement Marketing Strategy
  • Broaden our client’s market profile through consistent direct contact with the appropriate officers at endowments, foundations and public and corporate pension funds and their relevant consultants.
  • Identify qualified prospects, arrange meetings with decision makers at funds to introduce or expand their knowledge of our client’s strategies.
  • Continuously assess our progress and the market’s sentiment for our client’s strategy and adjust our approach as necessary. As investor interest is solidified, work with the investment team on preparations for final’s presentations.
  • Direct post-meeting prospect information requests, and solicit prospect feedback to communicate to the investment team.
  • We can also manage all requests for proposals (RFP’s) and information (RFI’s), and identify, populate and update consultant databases for inclusion in searches.
Account Closings
  • Deliver investor commitments, convert prospects into clients.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations and coordinate execution of all legal documents.

Client Servicing
We fully appreciate the importance of client servicing in client retention and actively participate in managing client relationships (including account review meetings) to the extent the manager feels comfortable. We realize the portfolio team should focus its efforts on alpha generation so we coordinate the information flow to clients so that the team is not distracted and the clients are receiving all their desired information on a timely basis. We also assist in the cross-selling of other investment products and services. By partnering with Connors & Co. you are able to add a team of experienced marketing professionals without the cost of training, supporting and managing a marketing team.
